For our community to remain diverse and robust, we must address affordable housing. Options include:

Incentivize the creation of secondary suites.

Allow rezoning in certain areas for accessory dwelling units.

Continually pressure the provincial government for inclusionary zoning which would empower Town of Canmore to mandate affordable housing for developments.

It can be challenging to live in Canmore, and quality of life needs to be maintained for citizens.

Take further initiatives to keep downtown vibrant.

Provide citizens with free-parking privileges so they can enjoy and support the downtown core.

Canmore has snowy winters and not everyone is capable of biking. As we build infrastructure for other modes of transport, we must maintain functional roadways.

Downtown is the heart of Canmore! We need to unlock its potential for both locals and tourists.

Work closely with the BIA group to create a Downtown Master Plan.

Revise paid parking proposals which punish local residents and threaten downtown businesses.

Find an effective intercept-parking lot solution.

Infrastructure design has become a contentious issue in Canmore and the needs of cyclists, drivers and citizens could be better met.

Redesign the intersection at A&W so it is functional and safe.

Reconfigure cycling lanes so that they are more readily understood by all users.

Explore more cost-effective ways to implement large-scale projects. Let’s get it done right the first time!
